How odd. If you stay completely still, you can hardly tell you're in water. Those were the first thoughts that entered the young girl's mind as she blinked open her eyes. Bright sunlight was filtering through the water, and she squinted. Then she realized-she was in water. No no no no no, not water! She didn't know why she hated the salty waves, but she did. Which meant she had to get out. The girl lashed out with her arm, trying to propel herself out of the water. Her feet hit the sand below, and she ended up washing up on some shore. She immediately scrambled away from the waves that had been hungrily licking at her feet. Once she had finally dragged herself away from the ocean, she began retching, trying to dispell the awful salt water that had entered her body. Once all the awful tasting water was gone, the girl struggled to her feet, looking around. Ugh, she was all wet. She shrugged off her large coat, which was covered in sand, revealing her dress which was sand free. But still wet. Her shoes were wet, too, and her socks. Atleast she could take those off. With the hopes of having them dry quicker, the girl kicked off her black combat boots and stripped off her socks, leaving her barefoot. She hung up her coat and socks by draping them over an arching palm tree, and placed her shoes in a sunny spot. Hopefully they would dry. The confusion she felt was something she despised, as she hated feeling confused. not knowing what was going on was the worst, in her eyes, and it made her feel blind. Like she was stumbling around in the darkness, trying to find a way out. Stupid darkness. What was this place? Why was I in the ocean? More importantly, who am I? Those questions were something she just had to find the answers to. As hard as the girl tried, however, she couldn't remember how she had gotten in the water. Actually, she couldn't remember anything! It was as if something was blocking her from her memories, like they were out of reach. She new that standing here wasn't going to get her any closer to finding out what was going on, why she had barely and memories. She had to find someone, if anyone else was here, to explain.

His thoughts were finally starting to sort themselves out. Unfortunately, his memories didn't seem to be quite as cooperative. He wasn't even sure what his name was. A foot kicked at the sand, creating a small cloud as the sea breeze caught the smaller particles and blew them away. Head shook slowly as he closed his eyes, continuing to slowly drag himself along the beach. What was he even doing here? Wait, was he losing his memory again!? Oh wait. He was just scouting the beach. But so far all he found were coconuts and sand. Lots and lots of sand.
The boy let out an irritated grunt as he turned his gaze forward once more. He couldn't scout the beach with his nose buried in the sand. Eyes lazily moved across the horizon as he searched for anything of interest. Part of him wanted to move deeper inland, but that was hardly his decision to make. And it wasn't as if he could just wander in on his own. Who knows what could be living in there? Thoughts came to a sudden stop as he spotted...a person? Yes! Yes it was a person! Pace slowly began to quicken as he narrowed his eyes, trying to get a better look at the figure. It was clearly a woman. Then again, he thought Lucien was a woman when he first saw him. Maybe he shouldn't jump to such conclusions based on the length of their hair.
By the time he reached her, he was nearly out of breath. Doubling over, he braced himself by putting his hands on his knees. A hand lifted up with an extended index finger, in a 'just a second' type gesture. It wasn't until then he realized how much easier it would be if he had just called her instead of just running at her like some kind of weirdo. Hopefully he didn't startle her."I...I found you." He quickly straightened himself up, shaking his head as he felt slight lightheartedness. Once he regained his composure, he offered the girl a comforting, although yellow toothed smile. He knew how confusing it was to be in her current situation. Least he could do was try to make her feel at ease.

The girl continued to stand for a bit, immersed in her thoughts. Only the sound of footsteps made her jolt back to reality. She stiffened as she heard something approaching, automatically on alert mode. This was the first sign of life on this island, besides the palm trees, and she had no clue whether it would want to be her friend or be her killer. She didn't turn around. She didn't move. The girl didn't want to do anything until it stopped. And when the pounding of footsteps did in fact stop, she whipped around to look at what had decided to approach her. And what she saw surprised her. A boy, (she didn't know why she called it that, but she knew it was a boy) stood before her, panting and holding up a finger. She was taken aback for a moment. Who are you? she was about to speak those words, when the boy began to talk. I found you. That was what he had said. Which made absolutely no sense to her. Found her. So did that mean he had been looking for her? But if he was looking for her, does that mean he knew who she was? She was battling, thinking about what to say next, when she went into complete defensive mode. She didn't know who this person was, or why he was smiling at her. Taking a few steps back, she grabbed her shoe and chucked it at the newcomer. She was still weak, so all it did was bounce off his head harmlessly. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice shaking. She was confused, once again, and she hated the confusion.

What was that for? He didn't even do anything yet! Though he did kind of sneak up on her. Rubbing his forehead where the boot made contact, he let out a weak laugh. "I-I didn't mean to startle you." Though he couldn't help but wonder if that was a gesture made from fear or...straight up strangeness. At this point, neither one would surprise him. "Who are you? His weak smile quickly turned to a frown as he heard this question, shoulders slumping down a bit. "That's...a good question."
He heaved out a heavy sigh, trying to think of how to approach this situation. The last thing he wanted was for her to throw another boot at his head. "I'm guessing you lost your memory right? You see, me and a few others have too. We kinda just...washed up on shore here. " Posture straightened once more as he looked the girl over. She didn't seem to be much older than him. Though her clothes were in much better condition, aside from being soaking wet.
What was he supposed to do now? It wasn't like he could introduce himself. He couldn't even remember his own name! Smile returned as he extended a hand towards the girl. "It's nice to meet you. Can you remember your name?"

When she saw him laugh and smile again, the guilt began to settle. Yep, he was definitely trying to make friends. And what had she done? Assaulted him with a boot. That was certainly not a good way to approach the situation. "Sorry about that. You scared me." she murmured, looking down. Her bangs fell in front of her eyes, hiding them, as an embarrassed gesture. When his smile disappeared, and he said he didn't know who he was, she raised an eyebrow in surprise. But he continued before she got to speak. What he said next surprised her the most. "You mean there are more people here? And they don't remember anything either?" she queried, interest flashing in her eyes as she looked directly at the boy for the first time. So there are more. And the same thing has happened to them. How curious. Something is odd here.He extended his hand, and she stared at it for a fraction of a second. Her instinct was telling her to shake it, so she went ahead and did that, stretching her hand out cautiously before shaking his hand. "Name? No, I don't think so." She thought long and hard. Name, name. Nope, she couldn't think of a name. "Guess I'll have to make one." She crouched down and began to draw letters in the sand. Random letters. K R E S E E. Kresee. That sounded stupid. The girl scrambled up the letters, trying several different possibilities. Eventually she came up with the word Seeker. Well, that was okay, but she wanted something more unique. So, she went ahead and rewrote Seeker, backward. Rekees. That one is pretty good. It rolls off the tongue well. She stood up straight and looked at the boy, "My name is Rekees." she tried it out. Not bad, I'll keep it. Hopefully the boy wouldn't think her weird for suddenly writing in the sand and all.
